Winter White: Beer, Bracelets and Blankets

It's official. Today is the first day of winter. Here, in New York City, the streets are full of people wearing dark, heavy jackets and the bars are full of folks sipping deep red wines and dark brews. As the cold sets in, I'm fighting against the dying of the light and embracing winter whites.

Sit back, and cozy up with a white ale.
You may think Weissbier is out of season, but there are plenty of rich white beers which will keep you warm this winter. One of my favorites is Bell's Belgian style Winter White Ale, from Bell's Brewery in Michigan.

You can warm up any look with an unexpected pop of winter white. I pair these Andean Collection bracelets with my comfy woolen sweaters.

Snuggle up under a fair trade blanket.
I love this blanket from Nkuku, a fair trade company that works with artisans throughout Africa and Asia. This lambswool blanket was made in India. You can find it at one of our favorite eco-boutiques, Greenheart!

Stay warm in white this holiday season!
